Damen Shipyards Galati

Apart from its two shipyards in Vlissingen, the production facilities of Damen Shipyards Galati (DSGa) are available to Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding. Based in the town of Galati, Romania, along the Danube River, DSGa is the largest production facility of the Damen Shipyards Group.

The yard is specialised in the construction of naval vessels as well as other complex and sophisticated, high technology vessels such as offshore, research and coast guard vessels and mega yachts. Since 2002 DSGa has participated in the construction of all Royal Netherlands Navy vessels under the main contractorship of DSNS, such as two hydrographic vessels, a landing platform dock and a logistic support ship.

Its current order portfolio includes the construction of four Oceangoing Patrol Vessels of the Holland Class, of which the third and fourth will be completed in Galati and the building of the Karel Doorman, the new Joint Support Ship of the Royal Netherlands Navy. Other current projects are the construction and delivery of three Multi Purpose Vessels for the Swedish Coastguard and an Offshore Patrol Vessel for the Romanian Border Police.
